These gardens have been on my ‘to do’ list for quite some time, so on a sunny Sunday afternoon, we headed up to Yarra Junction to visit the garden. They were nothing like I expected – much better!! The gardens officially opened in 2006 and are spread across 14 acres, featuring exotic and native plants, water lillies, lotus flowers and the Giant Amazon Lily, all surrounding lakes with beautiful bridges and paths around them. The gardens run along the Little Yarra River which makes for a beautiful walk along the back end of the grounds.
Along with the gardens, there is a gift shop and Rods nursery on site, offering plants, garden supplies and ornaments, a little fairy garden and onsite café/kiosk, where you can sit amongst the garden and enjoy refreshments.
